In the meal food diary, you can see your meal makeup and nutrition values for the meal.  On the bottom right, you see the entire meals calories, fat, proteins, and other nutritional values.  Above on the right, there is a chart showing proteins, fats, and carbohydrates ratios by calories making up your meal.  With this food explorer you populate the food diary with food items and meals.

On the left above of the food diary food explorer, there is the food explorer tree style or alphabetical searchable list, by which you add or update food items to your meal.  You can select to narrow down food items showing by food groups such as baby foods, baked products, etc..

When you select a food, the food diary shows the percent carbohydrates, protein and fats are shown by calories.  After you select the food, select a measure, and type the number of servings.  Now, the caloric values all of your food item meal selection are shown in the food diary.  If you are satisfied, click on the add button.

At the bottom, you can click to save the entire meal as a recipe.  Or, load a recipe that was previously saved.  Or select from foods you recently selected in previous days.

That’s it.  You can click on the searchable list tab to see a sorted list of the foods.  In the sorted list, you can search for keywords such as chicken, fish, etc..

In the food diary, to update a food item in your meal, select the food in the meal listing.  The food is then automatically selected above in the listing including the measures and servings.  Just update whatever measure you want and servings, or select an entirely new food.  Click the update button.
