Food Diary Summary

Dear User,

The main Food Diary screen.  This is where you enter all your body measurement, food consumption, exercise, medical, and journal data.

Food Diary Main View

In the Bodily Measurements section, you enter your body weight and measurements for your chest, waist, hips, thighs, body fat percentage, and ketosis.   You must enter a value for your weight in order for the program to calculate the amount of calories burned when you enter your exercise data.  All other measurements are optional and are simply used for you to keep track of your progress.

The date that you are entering data for is shown in the upper right hand corner.  On that same line, all the way to the left of the screen, the current user name is displayed.

If you have entered any measurements for the previous day, you can simply click on the Copy Yesterday’s Bodily Measurements button.  This is a quick way to enter this data.  It will copy all measurements that were entered for the previous day.  You can then change any of them that are different for this day.

If you keep track of your ketosis level, you can enter a value for that by clicking on the arrow button and choosing the appropriate selection.

When you are ready to enter foods you have consumed for the day, you can enter the time of day that it was consumed (for reference only) by typing the time in the area to the left of the Add Meal button.  Then, click on that Add Meal button and begin choosing the foods you want to add.  The steps to choose specific foods will be discussed later.

After a meal is entered, this screen will display the number of calories, fat, protein, carbs, sodium, and fiber contained in that meal.   Once foods are entered, there is a pie chart that will now be displayed to the right above the center portion of the screen, giving you an approximate idea of the percentage of proteins, fats, and carbs that were consumed for the day.

Once the meals for a full day have been added it might look like this.  At any point along the way while adding foods, you can click on the Show Days’ Complete Nutritional Values button to see a breakdown of all the nutrients, vitamins, minerals, etc that have been consumed that day.
You can also enter the amount of hours of sleep you had the night before in the area titled Hours Slept.

When finished with this screen, click the Close button.
If you’d like to print this information, click on the Print button.
To see a graph of these values, click on the Graph Daily Values button.

Food Diary Graphs

At the bottom of this screen, there are three tabs.  The first tab contains the Consumption Budget information.  It displays the Total Calories Consumed Today, the Calories Left To Consume Today (which is the difference between the Caloric-Intake Budget and the Total Calories Consumed), and the Total Daily Caloric-Intake Budget (which you entered in a different area of the program).

Going back to the upper tabs now, we see the Exercise tab.  Here you can enter any type of exercises that you performed today.  You can enter a time of day that you performed the exercise (for reference only), then click on one of the Add Exercise buttons to begin.

Food Diary

Then either scroll through the list of exercises to find the one you want or type in the first letter of the type of exercise that you performed (ex. Type the letter “j” to get to items in the list that begin with the letter “j” and then scroll to the one you want, jogging).  Once you have found the correct exercise, double click it to choose it.

Now enter the number of minutes that you performed this exercise.  The Diary program will calculate the amount of calories burned based on your body weight.  If you performed more than one type of exercise or exercised more than once during the day, enter each of those separately.  The Total calories expended for the day will be displayed in the bottom portion of the exercise tab area.

The lower tab area has a tab titled Exercise Expenditure Plan. It will display the total Calories Exercised This Week.  This includes all exercises performed for all the days of the current week.  It also shows the Total Weekly Exercise Caloric Expenditure Plan (which you entered into the program elsewhere) and the Total Weekly Exercise Caloric Expenditure Left (i.e. calories you still need to burn to meet your plan’s requirement).
