To get to Food Diary’s Food Explorer screen you need to double click on a day in the Calendar view. Then on the Food Consumption tab click on one of the Add Meal buttons. Doing this will allow you to add meals for the day. Make sure you add a meal separately for each one you have, even snacks. Don’t add everything you eat in the day to one meal. This will make it harder to keep track of what you are eating. This screen has many options to give you flexibility in setting up your meals. In the Explorer view you will see categories at the left and a Tree view at the right. As you open a category you can then go through the Tree view to find the specific food. There are thousands of options and combinations that can be used to select what you eat. There is a Sorted – Searchable tab. You can use this to find a food type easily. After selecting this tab you can enter a word or phrase of the food you want to search for, and then press the Search button. Food Diary will look through the database and select the proper category. The food items matching your search will display to the right. You can then select them to add to your meal. As you select food you will see the nutrient values show up in the Food Item Selected tab. Food Diary allows you to now select the serving portion of this item. Once you have the serving portion selected click on the Add Food to Meal button. This will add the item to your meal. Continue to add items until you have accounted for everything in your meal. When you have finished with this meal click on the Close button, and you will be back to the Food Consumption tab. Continue adding your meals and snacks by clicking on other Add Meal buttons. You will notice in the Food Consumption tab that once a meal has been added the button next to that meal has changed to Edit Meal. You can click on that button and edit your meal. This is how you can correct mistakes you may have made to a meal. If you can’t find your meal item in Food Diary’s database, you can add something using the Add New Custom Food button in the Food Explorer screen. Food Diary lets you have full control of the meals you eat and plan. By allowing you to enter custom foods you will have whatever you eat at your fingertips. These added items will display in the [Custom Foods] category. The Manage Entire Meal tab gives you the ability to see the whole meal on one screen, and let you add or remove items you want to change. It is you meal makeup on one screen. |
