Diet Software The Food & Exercise Diary for Windows - Tutorial

|

Selecting Foods
|
|
| |
With the diet
software, Food & Exercise Diary For Windows, you do not need
to type in the foods you eat, you select the foods you consume from
a predefined list of foods. There are 10,000 foods in the diet
software, the Food & Exercise Diary For Windows, and you can
add to that custom foods easily.
In the first view of the food consumption screen, you are presented
with a summary of the foods you ate per meal. Each meal is on a separate
line. There are nine meals for the day possible.
The content of the meal is verbally summarized on each line, so that
you can recognize the meals easily and all the meals fit on one screen.
To the right of each line, meal, there is a summarized nutritional
value for that meal, and at about them a summarized nutritional value
for all the meals of the day.
To access a detailed description of each meal, click on the up arrow
button in gray and the end of one of the meals. For instance, the
following is a food summary for certain day:
|
|
| |
|
|
| |
In the above view, of the summarized meals, you can see a meal at
6:45 a.m., orange juice and a cereal, constituting 427 calories of
food.
At 9:45 p.m. you see a meal constituting frozen desserts and cookies,
to see the full view of this meal click on the up their button at
the end of that meal, and the following screen appears detailing the
complete meal:
|
|
| |
In the complete
meal detail above, you can see frozen desserts, ice cream, vanilla,
four ounces, serving of one. Also, cookies, chocolate wafers, three
of them.
Each line in this screen is a meal item, such as a drink, bread, carrots,
and whatever food items make up the meal.
To add an item to this meal, click on the up arrow button at the end
of each meal item, which will bring up the food selection menu. There
are two food selection menus, one in alphabetical listing, and one
in Explorer view. Both food selection menus preformed the same function,
just with a different interface, look and feel.
When we click on the up their button of the chocolate wafers, we get
the list selection of the food in Explorer view, for instance:

|
| |
|
|
| |
In the Explorer food menu, you see the foods characterized into categories,
such as coffee, cold beverages, cookies, and etc.. When you click
on the plus sign next to the cookies, the Explorer view opens up the
types of cookies that are available, such as animal crackers, Brownies,
butter cookies, chocolate cookies, and etc.
When clicking on the plus sign of the chocolate, there is a selection
of chocolate chip cookie, of chocolate sandwich cookie, or chocolate
wafers; selected is chocolate wafers.
In this way you can continue in selecting by opening up and closing
different food categories, to select the specific food you ate.
Below, is an example of the alphabetical food selection menu:

|
|
| |
In the alphabetical food selection, you can search for certain keywords
such as eggs, bread and chicken. You can search for food items beginning
with a certain keyword, or you can search for food containing a certain
keyword.
Once you highlight the food selection, you need to select a measure
of that food, such as one slice of bread. The third step is to enter
how many servings of that measure you ate such as to servings of one
slice, namely two slices of bread.
This is a direct way to enter foods you consume, which takes a very
short time to fill up all the food you consume in a certain meal.

There are many ways to speed up this process such as selecting foods
eaten in recent days, custom
foods, and food recipes.
Look for each tutorial.
